Register for 2024-2025 Rec League Basketball
WHYB Rec League is open to all Whitman and Hanson, boys and girls, grades K-8.
Our Instructional program focuses on introducing our youngest players (K-2) to the game of basketball. Players will meet once a week to work on age appropriate basketball skills, and just generally have fun with their friends and teammates. Parents are encouraged to sign-up as volunteers, as these groups are a lot of fun, but often very chaotic...haha.
The bulk of our Rec League is for 3rd-8th graders of all skill levels. Players may be evaluated and teams created as evenly as possible. Teams will practice one night a week and play one game on the weekend. Generally divisions will be 3rd/4th grade, 5th/6th grade, and 7th/8th grade.
Volunteer coaches are always needed.
We have No Plans to run any of our Rec Leagues Co-ed.
Girls Basketball: Last season we had our first ever girls only Rec basketball leagues. They were a huge success and an absolute blast! Girls enrollments are typically far lower than the boys, but we hope to see all of our young ladies return again this year, and with the recent explosion of the WNBA, we hope to see many new faces giving basketball a try. So please spread the word and encourage the young ladies you know to join us this winter!
